This lid is on a 1910 Franz Ringer 100 year anniversary, Oktoberfest stein. I have had it in my collection for sometime and always assumed it was a personal engraving unique to my stein. Last week while at the SCI convention I found another 1910 Oktoberfest stein with the same engraving. After consultation with Walt Vogdes the possibility of it being a Zirkel has been ruled out. Walt suggested it was perhaps a business – Z.C.Co. I am curious if there are any other 1910 Oktoberfest or other steins out there with the same engraving or if anyone has any clues as to what this is? Thanks in advance. Walter Swett

Ronwswett,
I used the reverse image search on Google and TinEye without andy hits. My 1910 Oktoberfest lid was made by Brüder Thannhauser – München. There is no etching on my lid.

Thanks Ron. My lid was made by the firm “L. Mory München”. I’ve tried various searches and have come up empty handed as well.

After making a similar post on the SCI Beer Stein Identification & Valuation Group Facebook Page, I received a response from Robert Horen who said he has had three different 1910 Oktoberfest 1/2 liter steins with the same engraving on them.

Ronwsett,
Have you tried contacting Walter Mueck? He collects Oktoberfest steins and has several books on them. The book lists his address as mueckwalter at compuserve.de. You can also try contacting this Oktoberfest site, http://www.segalla.ch/default.html.

The segalla site has nothing there. I found a listing for another 1910 with that engraving on Worth Point but there was a note included that the person had no idea what the engraving was. Good idea about Mueck. I am familiar with him and have several of his books. None of his books have anything with a lid showing that engraving, but you are right, perhaps he might know something that could help identify it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ronswett,
You can still contact segalla by e-mail.
