looking for the site that lists the various stein manufacturers. this site lists the manufacturer and has photos of the steins also. it was operated by a man named frank. thanks richard

You are thinking of The Beer Stein Library, membership required to view the catalogs. You can find the link in the Reading Room under references. That is where you can also find SteinMarks and MySteinCollection as well as other helpful web sites.
