~ All' neun und Kranz beim Kegelspiel ~

This is a large etched stein marked with the Mettlach logo, mold #2958, and dated 1910. The game being played here is Kegeln (Skittles or Nine-Pins). All nine is like a strike in bowling, but the "wreath" is taking down the eight surrounding pins and leaving the 5-pin in the center standing and is worth more points than the strike. The second line might need some more work. Also see "Alle Neune" translation.

All' neun und Kranz beim Kegelspiel -
Wer das nicht schiebt, der schiebt nicht viel.
All nine and wreath at the "Skittles" game -
He who doesn't play, doesn't play much.
