The reader will surely recognize the bowling theme of these steins. This is the game of Nine Pins (Kegeln) still popular in Europe (and even Texas) and was the predecessor of our ten-pin bowling. The stein on left is a stoneware Jugendstil (youth style = modern art) stein by Marzi & Remy mold# 15009, ca. early 1900's.
