~ Den schlimmsten Zwist ~

The rhyming message seems to be that you can drown your sorrows in beer, but that's probably not the best solution. The enameled, amber-glass stein is ca. last quarter of the 1800's.

Den schlimmsten Zwist,
ein ächter Christ,
im Bier vergißt.
An unpleasant discord,
a disdained Christ,
(are) forgotten in beer.
