~ Der Hans'l und d' Greth'l ~

This verse is an excerpt (in Bavarian dialect) from the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" (little John and little Margeret) made popular by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 on a 1/2 L. Mettlach PUG (printed under glaze) stein with mold #3185 and decor #1280 made in 1908.

Der Hans'l und d' Greth'l,
san zwoa lustige Leut,
der Hans'l ist narrisch
und die Greth'l net gscheidt.
Hansel and Gretel
are two jolly folks/people
Hansel is silly
and Gretel is simple.
