This magnificent, 1.5 L., relief, character stein of a rotund knight is marked with the logo of Merkelbach & Wick, ca. late 1800's. If you drained this of its contents when full of beer or wine, you surely would regret it afterwards. Remember the "Katzenjammer Kids" in the Sunday comics many years ago. Well that expression means mischief and trouble.
Dieser Krug ist gemacht daß man jubelt und lacht, doch in geheimer Kammer schläft Katzenjammer.	This large stein was made so that one (could) celebrate and laugh, yet in its secret chamber lies dormant one bad hangover.
