| The Germans thought they could overcome any obstacle in WWI with "Dicke Berta" (Big Bertha), a howitzer (artillery cannon) mounted on a railroad car that could shoot a bullet almost half as big as the soldier on this stein over 30 miles, but it didn't turn out that way. The stein is of the period ca. 1914. | |
