~ Keinen Tropfen in Becher mehr ~

The verse is the first part of a student drinking song "der Lindenwirt" (Keeper of the Lime Tree Inn) by R. Baumbach 1876 on a 6.75 L. etched Mettlach punch bowl mold number 3334 designed by Fritz Quidenus and advertised in the 1911 Mettlach price list for 18.00 Deutschmark without the lid.

Keinen Tropfen in Becher mehr
und den Beutel schlaff und leer.
Lechsend Herz und Zunge
angethan hat mir's dein Wein
deiner Aeuglein heller schein
Lindenwirtin du junge!

Wer niemals einen Rausch gehabt,
der ist kein braver Mann.
Wer seinen Durst mit Acht einlabt
fang lieber gar nicht an!
Not a drop left in the beaker (stein) and
the purse is slack and empty.
Languishing heart and tongue -
smitten am I with your wine
and your lovely eyes' bright shine,
Linden landlady, so young!

Who has never been drunk,
is not a good man.
Who doesn't quench his thirst with attention
shouldn't even start.
