~ O tempora, o mores!  ~

This is a classical Latin motto from the writings of the famous Roman philosopher and man of letters, Cicero, and was meant to criticize the mores (morals and customs) of the times. Now the phrase is used mostly in a joking manner. The etched stein is marked with the Mettlach logo, form number 2776 and date 1911.

O tempora, o mores! (Classical Latin) Oh (the, what) times, oh (the, what) mores!
