The second line of the verse is an idiomatic expression that St. Paul apparently observed about the Corinthians, but with his hand on the beer stein doesn't mean he disapproved. Ancient Corinth is said to have been a "sin city" where everything goes. The glass stein has elements of Jugendstil (youth style = modern art), ca. early 1900's.
Paulus schrieb an die Corinthen sauft als wie die Bürstenbinder.	Paul (the apostle) wrote about the Corinthians that they drank like fish.
