~ Schäumende Wellen, brausende Bogen ~

This verse is a tribute in song to the city of Lindau an island on Lake Constance (the Bodensee) in southern Germany by a singing group founded there in 1833. The stein is either transfer-printed or hand painted ca. late 1800's.

Schäumende Wellen, brausende Bogen,
liebliche Gelände, Reben umzogen,
grünende Hügel, und Berge so kehr,
grüß Gott, dich Heimat
am schwäbischen Meer!

Liederkranz Lindau i. B. (im Bodensee)
Gegründet 1833
Foaming waves, tortuous curves,
lovely land, surrounding vines,
green hills, and winding mountains,
Greetings you homeland
on the Schwabian lake!
