It's not clear if the shout for joy is upon seeing one's friend or a stein of beer. Actually a stein of beer might sadly be one's only friend. The stein without lid is ca. after WW II.
Wenn ich dich sehe, vor Freude ich krähe!	When I see you, I crow (shout) with joy!
