~ Bleib mir mit der liebe Ferne ~
This is a cute Jugendstil (youth style/modern art) stein with no markings, ca. early 1900's. The first line of the verse can be interpreted in several ways, but with the picture on the stein showing a man seemingly wanting nothting to do with cupid's offer of love, the translation below seems most appropriate.
Bleib mir mit der liebe Ferne. Ich hab mein Krügl viel zu gerne. |
(Love) stay far away from me. I like my stein (of beer) much too much. |
