This is a very sentimental verse on PUG (printed under glaze) VBM stein, mold# 1526 dated 1937. ordered by Walter Werner Oct. 1938 for a dear friend during the time leading up to WWII. The dates are further proof that Villeroy & Boch Mettlach was still making items from original molds in the time period between the "Great Fire" of 1920 and WWII. This type of lantern is used in Germany for some types of children's games.
