~ Wenn ich einmal der Herrgott wär. ~
This stein was designed by Ludwig Hohlwein (NB. the small "o" in the text characteristic of Hohlwein) ca. 1910. The verse relates a classic story about a man who would be God and then creates a large barrel to hold a huge quantity of wine. Then when he succeeded in drinking all the wine, he lamented and prayed to God to be God once again. The verse is from an 1841 drinking song by Eduard Amthor.

Wenn ich einmal der Herrgott wär. If once I could be the Lord God.
